White Ibis

Size: Large, 21-27 inches long; wingspan is also 21-27 inches

Weight:  About 36 ounces (2 ¼ pounds)

Where to look for the White Ibis: One of the most numerous species seen on VBCC grounds.  Often seen near the ponds but can be seen on any grassy area. 

Diet: mostly aquatic insects and crustaceans. Watch how they probe the ground with their long, sensitive bills searching for food.
