Size: Medium, 17-20 inches long

Weight: about 24 ounces

Where to look for Wood Ducks: Wood Ducks are found high in trees as well as on ponds. Look for them near the three Wood Duck houses on the golf course. Click here for the birdhouse map.

Diet: acorns and seeds on land, aquatic plants on ponds; also, will eat insects, tadpoles, salamanders. 

Songs and calls:  Females make a loud ooeeks sound, while the male sound is a softer, rising squeal.
